LOVE THIS. I live right on lake street and have heard of people kayaking the river but have never seen it. This is the best way to watch it. Great job!

Try Wayne at the Canoe Hut on Crooked Lake. (231) 348-7040. As for the water level in August, pray for rain. Visual gauge info at American Whitewater org

Hey guys, This river looks sweet. Where did you put in at and where did you end up?

I saw your earlier comment about hooking someone up with other boaters. I just moved here & I’m desperate for kayaking buddies!

I did it with my brother in the fall of 2007 in an open 17′ 4″ old town canoe. We took a lot of water on when we went over the big drop. I still have bruises on my shins where I hit the cross bar.
We had laughed when the lady at the livery we called (even though we had our own canoe) told us we were crazy and people got injured doing that section.

Chris, I a living in New Hampshire now, but I can give you a couple names of people who went down the river with me. Boaters are always looking for someone to go with.

Wow, that’s awesome! I’m from Indian River and never knew about this river. Where do you put in and how long of a stretch is it? Much better than the Sturgeon. Thanks for the vid.

The whitewater on Bear River is beautiful, but it can be scary. Doesn’t stop me from going back there.
