Canoeist Stephen Brede has almost finished his quest to circumnavigate Lake Michigan. The Petoskey writer started his journey last June 24. After two months of canoeing and island hopping, he is near the end of his journey.

Brede circumnavigated Lake Huron prior to his quest on Lake Michigan. He carries a GPS tracking device which monitors his progress and sending updates online.
