Your Crowning Achievement – Award-Winning Author Reading and Book Signing on June 22 in Buffalo, NY

Author Jewel Kats will read her award-winning children’s fairytale Cinderella`s Magical Wheelchair: An Empowering Fairy Tale at the Jewel Kats Museum of disABILITY History in Buffalo, NY on Saturday, June 22, 2013.

Sponsored by the Museum of disABILITY History, the community event is geared toward families with children ages six and up. Book signing by Jewel Kats will follow the reading and participants will be welcomed to engage in “Make Your Own” crown or tiara craft activity.

Cinderella’s Magical Wheelchair tells the story of a kingdom far, far away where lives Cinderella. As expected, she slaves away for her cranky sisters and step-mother. She would dearly love to attend the Royal costume ball and meet the Prince, but her family is totally dead set against it. In fact, they have gone so far as to trash her wheelchair! An unexpected magical endowment to her wheelchair begins a truly enchanted evening and a dance with the Prince.

“Disabilities are a perk. They make you stand out in a sea of ordinary folks. Limitations are just a perceived mindset,” says Jewel Kats, “Nobody… nothing should stop you. You’re entitled to reach for the stars in your very own way!”

Cinderella’s Magical Wheelchair is the first book in the Fairy Ability Tales Series from Jewel Kats and Loving Healing Press. The book has won the Silver medal for the Mom`s Choice Awards 2013 in the category Children’s “Picture Books: Inspirational / Motivational” and is seen as “a must for every school library and therapy office” by Theresa Fraser, M.A., Child Psychotherapist and Play Therapist.
